 | | Questions and Answers | Questions and answers often asked when seeking the help of a Private InvestigatorHow much does it cost for an initial consultation?
The initial consultation is always free. I do not place a time limit on my consultation with you. When we meet for the first time, I work with you long enough to learn of your concern and discuss alternatives to resolve it. Usually, this ranges anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours depending on the complexity of your case.
Who actually works on my case?
Depending on the type of work that needs to be done, the investigators I assign to your case are hand picked to assure you get the best possible team. I will also do some, and at times all of the work necessary to complete the tasks required to resolve your issues. I match investigators to clients carefully. If you have an issue requiring a private investigator, you need to know the team working on your cases has been carefully chosen and screened. You will approve each team member before they begin work.
What are your policies on keeping my information and my case private?
I have adopted the same privacy rules as attorneys. Your file and information in it are shared with no one outside the investigative team — as authorized by you. Any discussion of your case is done only with you present or after you have signed an authorization for us to discuss your case with specific people or organizations.
How much does it cost?
It is impossible to set the price of a case until we have had an initial consultation and we are both very clear about what is needed. You will be asked to pay a retainer initially and you will then be billed periodically, according to our agreement. You will be asked to pay an hourly rate for investigators and you will be billed expenses according to requirements of the case. Each case is very different, so financial discussions must be made only after we are clear about the work to be done.
